On a Cloudy Day 시리즈는 불확실함과 모호함 속에 스며 있는 고요한 아름다움을 탐구하는 작업이다. 언제나 흘러가며 고정되지 않는 구름은 오래전부터 나에게 영감의 원천이자, 나 자신을 비추는 거울 같은 존재였다. AI 또한 그런 구름처럼, 자유롭고 유동적인 상상력을 구현할 새로운 언어를 내게 열어주었다. 그러나 AI는 단순한 도구가 아니다. 내가 통제할 수 없는 데이터에 의존하기에, 저작의 주체성은 언제나 불안정하다. 때로는 결과물보다 도구가 더 크게 말하고 있는 것처럼 느껴지기도 한다. 그 불확실한 경계 위에서, 나는 우연과 의도를 교차시키며 새로운 예술적 주체성을 모색한다. AI와 함께한 2년의 시간은 상상과 현실의 거리를 좁히며, 나의 표현을 세계와 더욱 긴밀하게 연결시켰다. 이제 AI는 나에게 단순한 매체가 아니라 창작의 동반자가 되었다. 나는 극적인 서사보다, 시처럼 미묘하고 조용한 시각적 언어를 통해 영감의 근원과 대화하듯 작업을 이어간다. 최근에는 AI로 생성한 이미지와 직접 촬영한 영상을 결합하며, 현실과의 새로운 접점을 모색하고 있다. 이 여정 또한 어떤 형태로든 변화하겠지만, 영감이 살아 있는 환경 속에서라면 나는 다시 한번 나의 구름과 함께 새로운 문을 열 수 있으리라 믿는다. A Traveler in Search of Originality in AI Art
The On a Cloudy Day series explores the serene beauty embedded within uncertainty and ambiguity. Ever-shifting and unanchored, clouds have long served as a primary source of inspiration for me—a mirror reflecting my inner world. Much like those clouds, AI has unlocked a new language that allows me to give form to a fluid, liberated imagination.
Yet, AI is far more than a mere tool. Because it relies on data beyond my personal control, the concept of authorship remains perpetually in flux. At times, the medium itself seems to speak louder than the final artwork. Standing on this uncertain threshold, I weave together chance and intention, constantly seeking a redefined sense of artistic agency.
Over the past two years, working alongside AI has narrowed the distance between imagination and reality, connecting my artistic expression more intimately with the world. AI is no longer just a medium; it has become a true creative companion. Rather than relying on dramatic narratives, I continue my practice as a quiet, poetic dialogue with my source of inspiration. Recently, I have been blending AI-generated imagery with my own video footage to discover new touch points with reality.
This journey will inevitably evolve, but as long as I remain in an environment where inspiration thrives, I trust that I will continue to open new doors alongside my clouds.
