기념비가 지향해온 완결된 시간과, 오늘날 알고리즘이 구성하는 질서에 균열을 가하는 조각적 시도다. 석가탑과 같은 역사적 물질의 기념비성을 해체하고, 재건축 하는 과정에서 발생하는 오류와 파편을 다시 공간 안에 쌓아 올린다. 이 과정에서 과거, 현재, 미래는 하나의 선형적 흐름으로 정렬되지 않고, 서로 어긋난 채 공존하는 비선형적 시간의 구조로 드러난다. 쌓기와 무너짐, 생성과 붕괴가 반복되며, 최적화된 시스템이 제거해온 노이즈와 잔해를 통해, 알고리즘의 필연적 궤도에서 벗어난 존재론적 틈을 감각적으로 드러낸다. 완결된 형태의 탑이 아닌 멈춰 서서 응시하고 사유가 발생하는 과정을 지속시키는, 완결되지 않은 시간의 구조물로 작동한다.(작가 포트폴리오 중)
This work is a sculptural attempt to rupture both the closed, definitive temporality that monuments have historically sought and the rigid order orchestrated by contemporary algorithms. Deconstructing the monumentality of historical matter—such as Seokgatap—the work reaccumulates the errors and fragments generated throughout the reconstruction process back into spatial form.
In this process, the past, present, and future refuse alignment into a single linear trajectory, emerging instead as a nonlinear temporal structure where disparate moments coexist in discordance. Through the recursive cycles of stacking and collapsing, generation and decay, it harnesses the noise and debris systematically purged by optimized environments to sensuously expose an ontological rift that strays from algorithmic inevitability. Rather than existing as a completed pagoda, it operates as an unfinished structure of time—one that invites pause, evokes contemplation, and keeps the open process of thought in perpetual motion.
